This course is targeted to Emergency and critical care physicians and trainees, Emergency CMOs, Rural GPs and remote practitioners.

The course is eligible for 8 hours CPD with ACEM and 24 CPD points with CICM

Description

This full day course addresses the specific knowledge required for front line clinicians in the acute management of poisoning and envenomation.

Topics covered

The course focuses on teaching the following topics 

  • Structured approach to poisonin
  • Toxic resuscitation
  • ECG in overdose
  • Uncommon and paediatric poisonings
  • Envenomation update

Approach

Participants will work in small groups led by faculty toxicologists, participants will also be involved in the management of simulated toxicological emergencies in an immersive team environment.
